TOPOLOGY AND VORTEX STRUCTURES OF A CURVING TURBINE CASCADE WITH TIP CLEARANCE (Ⅰ)- EXPERIMENTAL MODEL AND TOPOLOGICAL FLOW PATTERNS ON BOTH ENDWALLS AND BLADE SURFACES

By means of ink trace visualization of the flows in conventional straight, positively curved and negatively curved cascades with tip clearance, and measurement of the aerodynamic parameters in the transverse section, and by appling topology theory, the structures on both endwalls and blade surfaces were analyzed. Compared with conventional straight cascade, blade positive curving eliminates the separation line of the upper passage vortex and leads the secondary vortex to change from close separation to open separation, while blade negative curving effects merely the positions of singular points and the intensities and scales of vortex. 基于光晶格的超冷原子量子模拟

文章从超冷原子研究的视角出发,回顾了用"从下到上"的方案来开展量子模拟研究的历史。超冷原子作为宏观量子态,各个自由度精确可控,是量子模拟的绝佳平台。光晶格将冷原子物理和凝聚态物理融合起来,是其中最重要的技术之一,为超冷原子量子模拟提供了一个扎实的落脚点。近年来,关于拓扑量子模拟的研究日益兴起,成为超冷原子量子模拟新的重要方向。文章介绍这方面近期的一些工作进展。最后分享作者对超冷原子量子模拟的一些思考。     

Floquet bands and photon-induced topological edge states of graphene nanoribbons

Floquet theorem is widely used in the light-driven systems. But many 2 D-materials models under the radiation are investigated with the high-frequency approximation, which may not be suitable for the practical experiment. In this work,we employ the non-perturbative Floquet method to strictly investigate the photo-induced topological phase transitions and edge states properties of graphene nanoribbons under the light irradiation of different frequencies(including both low and high frequencies). By analyzing the Floquet energy bands of ribbon and bulk graphene, we find the cause of the phase transitions and its relation with edge states. Besides, we also find the size effect of the graphene nanoribbon on the band gap and edge states in the presence of the light.     

Effects of post-annealing on crystalline and transport properties of Bi_2Te_3 thin films

A well-established method is highly desirable for growing topological insulator thin films with low carrier density on a wafer-level scale. Here, we present a simple, scalable method based on magnetron sputtering to obtain high-quality Bi_2 Te_3 films with the carrier density down to 4.0 × 10~(13) cm~(-2). In contrast to the most-used method of high substrate temperature growth, we firstly sputtered Bi_2 Te_3 thin films at room temperature and then applied post-annealing. It enables the growth of highly-oriented Bi_2 Te_3 thin films with larger grain size and smoother interface. The results of electrical transport show that it has a lower carrier density as well as a larger coherent length(～ 228 nm, 2 K). Our studies pave the way toward large-scale, cost-effective production of Bi_2 Te_3 thin films to be integrated with other materials in wafer-level scale for electronic and spintronic applications.     

A layer potential analysis for transmission problems for Brinkman‐type systems in Lipschitz domains in

The aim of this paper is to establish a well‐posedness result for a boundary value problem of transmission‐type for the standard and generalized Brinkman systems in two Lipschitz domains in , the former being bounded, and the latter, its complement in . As a first step, we establish a well‐posedness result for a transmission problem for the standard Brinkman systems on complementary Lipschitz domains in by making use of the Potential theory developed for such a system. As a second step, we prove our desired result (in L²‐based Sobolev spaces) by using a method based on Fredholm operator theory and the well‐posedness result from the previous step.     

Well‐posedness of fractional integro‐differential equations in vector‐valued functional spaces

We study the well‐posedness of the fractional differential equations with infinite delay on Lebesgue–Bochner spaces and Besov spaces , where A and B are closed linear operators on a Banach space X satisfying ,  and . Under suitable assumptions on the kernels a and b, we completely characterize the well‐posedness of in the above vector‐valued function spaces on by using known operator‐valued Fourier multiplier theorems. We also give concrete examples where our abstract results may be applied.     

Jordan operator algebras revisited

Jordan operator algebras are norm‐closed spaces of operators on a Hilbert space with for all . In two recent papers by the authors and Neal, a theory for these spaces was developed. It was shown there that much of the theory of associative operator algebras, in particular, surprisingly much of the associative theory from several recent papers of the first author and coauthors, generalizes to Jordan operator algebras. In the present paper we complete this task, giving several results which generalize the associative case in these papers, relating to unitizations, real positivity, hereditary subalgebras, and a couple of other topics. We also solve one of the three open problems stated at the end of our earlier joint paper on Jordan operator algebras.
